Anxiety can cause dizziness (feeling lightheaded or woozy), but you might also feel anxious because you're dizzy.12 The relationship between the two is complex. When you feel anxious, your breathing rate might increase, leaving you short of breath and dizzy. Conversely, you may feel anxious when you're dizzy from an underlying condition such as a vestibular disorder (a condition affecting the inner ear and brain).
