Post-Divorce Therapy: Rebuilding, Co-Parenting, and Child-Centered Transitions
Divorce ends a legal relationship, not a family. My post-divorce work helps you establish a new, healthy “normal” that protects your well-being and your children’s development. Together we address emotional recovery (grief, anxiety, anger), identity rebuilding, and practical skills for parallel or cooperative co-parenting..

What we do in session:

  • Design clear communication rules (brief, neutral, business-like) and boundary agreements.

  • Create house-to-house routines for homework, bedtimes, screens, and hand-offs.

  • Develop conflict de-escalation and decision-making protocols.

  • Plan for holidays, new partners, and blended family transitions.

  • Strengthen personal resilience: mindset, sleep, nutrition, and stress management.

Clinical approach: brief, skills-based therapy informed by CBT/ACT, family systems, and attachment science. I do not provide custody evaluations or court testimony; treatment is strictly therapeutic and child-centered. When helpful, I coordinate care with our partnering child psychologist for developmental or behavioral support.

Format & Access: 50-minute sessions; individual, co-parent, or family formats. Office in Boca Raton and secure telehealth statewide. Insurance eligible for many plans; out-of-network support available.

Post-Divorce Therapy & Co-Parenting Stabilization

A divorce changes logistics, roles, and routines - often overnight. Post-divorce therapy provides a structured path to recover emotionally, protect your children’s well-being, and run family life effectively across two homes.

Who this is for

  • Recently divorced or long-separated adults who want a healthier “second chapter.”
  • Co-parents seeking fewer conflicts and clearer boundaries.
  • Families integrating new partners or step-siblings.
  • Parents noticing school, sleep, or behavior changes in children after the split.

Goals & Outcomes

  • Emotional steadiness: process grief and anger; reduce anxiety; rebuild confidence.
  • Child-centered stability: consistent expectations, predictable routines, smoother transitions.
  • Low-conflict communication: short, neutral, and business-like exchanges with your ex.
  • Durable structure: written agreements for logistics, holidays, and decision-making.
  • Personal health plan: sleep, movement, nutrition, and stress tools that actually fit your life.

What We Work On

  • Communication Protocols: How to write texts/emails that reduce escalation; response times; topics to avoid; boundary language.
  • Parenting Logistics: Hand-off scripts, school coordination, medical decisions, travel notices, and shared calendars.
  • Two-Home Routines: Homework, chores, screens, and bedtime consistency so children do not have to “re-adjust” every week.
  • Conflict De-escalation: When to pause, how to re-engage, and what to document.
  • Holidays & Life Events: Planning for birthdays, graduations, and vacations with minimal friction.
  • New Relationships: Talking with children about dating; introducing partners; blended family norms.
  • Personal Recovery: Identity rebuilding, values clarification, friendship and community re-entry, and dating readiness.

Clinical Approach

Brief, skills-forward therapy integrating CBT/ACT, family systems, and attachment-informed practices. You will leave with practical tools - communication templates, checklists for transitions, and a personalized self-care plan. I do not provide forensic services, custody evaluations, or expert testimony; this is non-court-involved treatment focused on health and function.

Children’s Services

When needed, I coordinate with our partnering child psychologist for developmental screening and child-focused interventions, ensuring a cohesive, child-first plan across caregivers.
